Mail is now configured. When you start Mail, you may receive a warning that a security certificate cannot be verified (see UoB FAQ). To avoid these warnings, install the certificate for Mail by following the instructions below.

Install the Information Services' Certificate Authority Certificate
As stated above, after saving these new email settings each time you start up, you probably receive a message indicating that a security certificate can not be verified. If you wish to avoid this message in the future, you will need to install a UoB certificate that will allow Mail to trust staff-imap-srv.bris.ac.uk. Follow these instructions:
Download the cerificate from:
https://wwws.cse.bris.ac.uk/load-IS-CA.html
- Double-click the certificate file (is-cacert.crt), which will start the Keychain Access application and display a dialog box (right).
- Use the Keychain pop-up menu to install the certificate in the X509Anchors keychain. Note: Starting with MacOS X 10.5.0, the X509Anchors keychain is used only for legacy applications. Install the certificate in the login keychain with this OS version.
- Click OK and you will be asked to enter your computer's Administrator (your) password to complete the certificate installation.
Note that FireFox and Internet Explorer will attempt to manage and install the certificate. This won't work correctly for Keychain Access. The file is-cacert.crt must be present as a distinct file on your computer. Downloading with Apple's Safari Browser works.
