I am interested in the links between climate and vegetation. This includes both the impact of climate change on vegetation distribution and ecosystem health, as well as the role that vegetation plays in regulating the climate.
My research uses many different kinds of computer models from regional climate models to understand the impact of climate change on cloud forests to biome models used to understand past and future distributions of ecosystems. Finally, I work with dynamic vegetation models coupled to atmospheric chemistry models for better understanding of the methane, nitrogen and hydrogen cycles.Link to Dr Pru Foster on the University's on-line database of research outputs (opens in a new window)
