The School currently comprises 31 core-funded academic staff (including 11 professors), 45 postdoctoral research staff (including 3 Royal Society Research Fellows and 6 Marie Curie Research Fellows) and 17 support staff. Headship is rotated amongst senior staff; the current Head of School is Prof Mike Kendall
We currently also have 105 postgraduate students: 65 are undertaking research leading to a PhD, whilst the remaining 40 are enrolled in the three Masters programmes. Undergraduate students, spread across our 10 BSc and MSci programmes, number 271 for the current academic year.
Each year the School attracts more than 20 academic visitors from overseas who carry out collaborative research with members of staff.
